[All the way from Colombia, Medellin's celebrated poet, RaíP Henao, has sent us a new photo of himself plus a new poem, accompanied by its English translation.]
EL
OLVIDO

OBLIVION
Encircles
the dispossessed the forsaken
Oblivion walks its dead
Unburied amid the fog
Pierces
the deaf man the street he crosses
His
blood leaps, signaling him
In the mirror of morning.
And there’s not a tree in sight
Where you could put a nest of birds
Not a single cloud to encamp the Sun.
Oblivion
walks its unburied dead
In encircles the dispossessed the forsaken.
The deaf man crosses the street.
Amid the fog the birds encamp
For there is no sun where you could place a cloud
No tree to erase
The bloodstorm of dawn.
